Online Psychotherapy based in South Harrow, London.

Online counselling and therapy can help you cope with anxiety, depression, grief, stress, and other trauma. I am a qualified psychotherapist based in South Harrow, specialising in online therapy. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), and the Philadelphia Association in Hampstead London. Face-to-face psychotherapy in South Harrow is also available, as well as online counselling sessions.

Online psychotherapy is offered on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life and to live it more fully. I offer flexibility in terms of local psychotherapy in Harrow, Hampstead, and online. I have worked in mental health for charities such as Mind and also in mental health services for the NHS as well as several years for the NHS Mammography service screening women for breast cancer. You can learn more about my qualifications and experience in the About Me section.

Life After Covid - the Meaning of Life Now

As we gradually emerge out of the COVID pandemic, many people are asking what this means in terms of their future and way of life. The pandemic has caused people to question their way of living and what it might mean to have both a meaningful and abundant life. Is this even possible with so much universal grief? These are some of the questions you might be asking yourself. How can I live now? What does my best life look like?

A group therapy process can offer both support and guidance as to what is true for you; how it might be possible to move beyond the very difficult and sometimes dark times of the pandemic. A group can both be inspiring and hopeful, but also challenging. A facilitated group can be a reflective space to think about these important questions; and not alone; but with others who are also interested.

I currently offer two groups sessions:

For Psychotherapy Students and Psychotherapists: A collaborative group space to reflect and build on your practice, in facilitated online groups of 4 to 8 people. The groups are both reflective and reflexive spaces for either psychotherapy students or newly qualified psychotherapists who want to think about their practice in a supportive and collaborative way. Cost: £30 per hourly session, with a commitment of once or twice a month for up to 6 sessions.

For the Public: Find out what is important to you in life, and how to prioritise it, with a supportive, like-minded group of 4-8 people. Cost: £30 per session of 1 hour.

Psychotherapy Students

I am more than 5 years post qualified and as a member of both the BACP & UKCP I am accredited to take students training in psychotherapy. I can offer a reduction in price for psychotherapy for a limited number of psychotherapy students. Please contact me to find out more about this.

Coronavirus Online Therapy and Mental Health

The coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic is affecting the mental health of millions due to the isolation of lockdowns, and the disruption, financial pressure, and grief that it has brought with it. For many this may be the first time they are struggling with loss, depression, or anxiety. For others, coronavirus is worsening underlying issues that they were previously coping with.

Online counselling is a safe, socially-distanced therapy for coronavirus/Covid-19 that allows you to work through your feelings and difficulties, and learn the coping strategies and tools you need to help your mental health through the pandemic. Contact me to see how online therapy could help you.

How can online psychotherapy help you?

Online psychotherapy is a creative and unique space of exploration that can help you deal with anxiety, depression, fear, loss, bereavement, trauma, and other mental health and emotional issues.

Both Sigmund Freud, the 19th Century founding father of psychoanalysis and others, such as the radical and existentialist influenced psychiatrist and psychotherapist of the 1970s R.D. Laing, believed that as people we are not transparent to ourselves; and therefore do not know ourselves as well as we think.

We can be divided against ourselves, hence you might not always be aware of the reasons for doing what you do and find yourself on occasions sabotaging your efforts. You might also find yourself repeating unwanted or addictive behaviours or having feelings or thoughts that appear to be out of your control. You might have tried to combat these out-of-control aspects of yourself with self-help techniques alone and found that they did not resolve the problem. You might then wonder why this is so and wonder what the answer is. Through talking to a trained therapist, over time, understanding can be discovered and insights gained. On the 'How can Psychotherapy help me?' page you can learn more about how to improve your mental health and happiness through online psychotherapy or local therapy in Hampstead & Harrow.

"We do not believe in ourselves until someone reveals that deep inside us something is valuable, worth listening to, worthy of our trust, sacred to our touch. Once we believe in ourselves we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight or any experience that reveals the human spirit." - E.E. Cummings
